L.Co has made the perfect finish as easy as 1, 2. We have developed two products that work hand in hand to give you a coating that is both durable and flexible with the appearance of a traditional hand rubbed finish. Our first step is L.Co Tung Oil Finish which has a large percentage of tung and linseed natural drying oils that are absorbed into the wood grain and emphasize the natural figure and color depth of the wood. You can add as much or as little as you would like. Our second step is L.Co Topcoat, a fast drying topcoat that will give you the protection you need for areas like tabletops and flooring. We still formulate our Topcoat with natural drying oils but we add a higher percentage of our durable resin to help protect the wood from marring, water damage, and general daily use.
Tung Oil Finish
L.Co’s Tung Oil Finish provides a good balance of beauty, protection, and ease of application for interior woodworking projects that create the look of a traditional hand rubbed polish with a natural sheen. L.Co Tung Oil Finish can be used alone or as an oil treatment and sealer on bare wood prior to topcoating extending the protection of your finish and bring added depth to the wood grain. Because of the large amounts of natural drying oils added to our Tung Oil Finish, additional drying time is required. Available in high gloss, semi-gloss and matte sheens.
L.Co’s Topcoat is a fast drying varnish that provides excellent abrasion resistance and chemical resistance for high traffic and high wear interior projects such as chairs, table- top surfaces, parquet flooring, wooden staircases and kitchen and bathroom cabinets. L.Co Topcoat is formulated with soy oil, tung oil and linseed oil which adds a richness rarely seen in a fast drying topcoat. We have formulated L.Co Topcoat with more resin which prioritizes faster drying times and added protection. Can be used in combination with our Tung Oil Finish. Available in high gloss, semi-gloss and matte sheens.
Use on interior wood surfaces including floors, windows, doors, cabinetry, woodwork, tables, furniture, bar tops, picture frames and various woodworking projects. Provides exceptional adhesion to oily, dense woods like teak, rosewood, and walnut.
For interior projects, we recommend 1-2 coats of L.Co Tung Oil Finish to seal and prime the substrate, followed by 2-3 coats of L.Co Topcoat.
